Monsoon has gained momentum across the country! The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has today issued a very serious warning regarding July 4. Heavy to extremely heavy rains are going to continue in many states of the country for the next 4 to 5 days. The effect of monsoon has become deeper due to the low pressure area formed in the north-west Bay of Bengal. According to IMD, there will be heavy rains with thunderstorms in 18 states and the wind speed can reach 40 to 70 kilometers per hour.

High alert in these 18 states

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 18 states of the country, which mainly include Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, Kerala, Nagaland, Sikkim, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. There is a danger of lightning along with heavy rain in these areas for the next few days.

Condition of Delhi, UP and Bihar

It will be cloudy in the capital Delhi today and there is a warning of light rain in some areas along with strong winds at a speed of 50 km per hour. At the same time, rain will continue till July 9 in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including Agra, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Varanasi. Monsoon is fully active in Bihar also. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of thunder, lightning and winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in many parts of the state.

Disaster rain from Rajasthan to Himachal

Heavy rain is likely over eastern and western parts of Rajasthan between July 4 and 9, where winds can reach speeds of 70 kmph. Talking about hilly states, IMD has warned about heavy rains in many districts of Himachal and Uttarakhand. The department has advised tourists and local people to check the latest weather updates before making travel plans.
