There will be four eclipses in the year 2025, out of which two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses. But only one of them will be visible from India. This information has been given by Rajendra Prakash Gupta, Superintendent of Jiwaji Observatory in Ujjain. Mr. Gupta gave information about the upcoming eclipses and the places from where they can be seen.
Full lunar eclipse will not be visible in India
Rajendra Prakash Gupta said that the first eclipse of the year will be 'complete lunar eclipse'. This astronomical event will occur during the day on March 14 Indian time; Therefore the lunar eclipse will not be visible in India. This lunar eclipse will be visible in areas like America, Western Europe, Western Africa and the North and South Atlantic Ocean.
Partial solar eclipse will not be visible in India
Gupta further said that the first solar eclipse of the year will be partial. This eclipse will take place on March 29, Indian astronomers will not be able to see it either. This eclipse will be visible only in North America, Greenland, Iceland, the North Atlantic Ocean, Europe and north-western Russia.
Second total lunar eclipse will be visible in India
Rajendra Prakash Gupta further said that Indians interested in astronomy can witness the total lunar eclipse in September. Gupta further said that the total lunar eclipse will be visible in other countries of Asia as well as Europe, Antarctica, Western Pacific Ocean, Australia and the Indian Ocean region. This amazing astronomical event will last from 8:58 pm to 2:25 am. During this time the Moon will appear dark red, which is known as 'Blood Moon'.
Last 'partial solar eclipse' of 2025
Rajendra Prakash Gupta said that the last astronomical event of the year will occur in the form of a partial solar eclipse on September 21-22. This also will not be visible in India. A partial solar eclipse can be seen in New Zealand, eastern Melanesia, southern Polynesia and western Antarctica.

In 2025, three supermoons will also be visible in the sky on October 7, November 5 and December 5. These will appear larger and brighter than normal, due to which a spectacular sight will be seen in the sky.
