There will be local flavor in Vande Bharat trains, big decline due to crackdown on fake accounts on IRCTC
Indian Railways is going to take another big step towards improving the journey of railway passengers. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav Has given instructions to implement the system of serving local cuisine (Vande Bharat Train Food Update) in Vande Bharat trains.
He says that this will not only provide better food to the travelers but will also enable them to experience the culture and traditional taste of the area they are passing through. There are plans to extend this initiative to other trains in a phased manner in the future.
These instructions were given during the review meeting held at Rail Bhawan on Saturday. Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu was also present in the meeting. Along with the catering arrangements, the ticket booking system was also reviewed in the meeting.
The Railway Minister said that the steps taken by the Railways to stop ticket booking through fake identities (Vande Bharat Train Food Update) have yielded positive results.
After the implementation of the user identity verification system, there has been a huge decline in the number of new accounts created daily on IRCTC. Earlier, where around one lakh new accounts were being created every day, now this number has come down to around five thousand.
According to officials, under this action so far 3.03 crore fake accounts have been deactivated. Additionally, 2.7 crore user IDs have either been suspended or marked for suspension based on suspicious activities.
The Railway Minister directed the officials to make the ticketing system more robust, so that all passengers can book tickets without any hassle through a valid and genuine user ID.
