Patna. Relief news has emerged for the teachers of Bihar. The government has now taken cognizance of the long standing complaints regarding casual leave. This issue was raised strongly in the Bihar Assembly, after which the Education Minister has assured to improve the system.
This decision of Bihar government is being considered as a big step in the interest of teachers. With the end of the complexity related to casual leave, teachers will now be able to get full benefit of their legitimate leave rights. The need for such reforms to strengthen the education system was being felt for a long time.
What was the dispute?
In the system till now, if a teacher took casual leave and a Sunday or any other government holiday fell between that period, then it was also included in the calculation of leave. This reduced the number of actual leave days of teachers.
Education Minister’s clear assurance
The Education Minister recently said in clear words in the House that it is not appropriate to add Sunday during casual leave. He assured that this system will be improved soon. Now Sundays or other government holidays falling during casual leave will not be included in the calculation of leave. For this, necessary technical changes will be made in the e-Shiksha Kosh system, so that such problems do not arise in future.
Teachers will get big relief
Thousands of teachers in the state are expected to get relief from this assurance of the government. The solution to this long standing problem will also boost the morale of teachers. This step is considered important towards making the administrative process more equitable. When technical amendments will be implemented in the coming days, teachers will start getting its real benefits.
