These 3 highways in UP will be six lane, great news for these districts
Lucknow: A major step has been taken towards further strengthening the road infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. In view of the rapidly increasing traffic pressure in the state, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has started preparations for the widening of four major national highways. Under this scheme, three four-lane highways will be converted into six lanes, while one two-lane road will be converted into four lanes.
These three highways will be made six lanes
As per NHAI’s plan the following three major routes will be expanded:
Lucknow-Sitapur Highway (about 65 kilometers)
Jhansi-Orai Highway (about 135 kilometers)
Orai-Bara Highway (about 70 kilometers)
In view of the ever increasing traffic on these routes, they will be developed into six lanes, which will make the movement of vehicles more organized and travel time will be reduced.
Barabanki-Bahraich highway will be four lane
Apart from this, Barabanki-Bahraich National Highway will also be expanded. This approximately 102 kilometer long route, which currently has two lanes, will be converted into four lanes. This road connects many important towns and cities of Uttar Pradesh and will further improve regional connectivity in future.
There will be relief from jam, travel will be easy
The biggest benefit of widening the highway will be the reduction in traffic jams. Heavy vehicles and passengers traveling long distances will get more facilities. Increasing road capacity will also reduce the possibility of accidents and the speed of goods transportation will improve.
Which sectors will benefit the most?
People of many districts including Lucknow, Sitapur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Barabanki and Bahraich will get direct benefits of this scheme. Besides, the commercial, industrial and agricultural areas connected to these routes will also benefit from better connectivity.
