There are about 18 such traditional trades in our country which are now getting direct support from the government. ‘PM Vishwakarma Yojana’ is not just a scheme that runs on paper, but it is for every person who runs his household with the work of his hands.

What do you get in this scheme?
Often people think before applying as to what benefit they will get. Let’s understand it in 4 simple points:

  1. Cheap Government Loan: Initially you are given a loan of ₹1 lakh, and when you repay it on time, you get another loan of ₹2 lakh. Its interest is so low (about 5%) that you will not feel any burden in paying the installments.
  2. Free Training and Money: You will be taught new ways of working. The good thing is that even during training, you will get a stipend of ₹ 500 every day.
  3. Gift of Rs 15 thousand: As soon as your training is completed, the government will give you ₹15,000 to buy modern toolkit.
  4. Certificates and Identification: You will get a government ‘Vishwakarma Certificate’, with the help of which you will be able to prove your identity anywhere and do your work with pride.

Who can apply?
Tailors, boat makers, weapon makers, blacksmiths, locksmiths, potters, sculptors, cobblers, masons, basket makers, toy makers, barbers, garland makers and washermen—all of them are eligible for this scheme. Your age should be above 18 years.

The easiest way to apply (Step-by-Step Guide)
If you yourself are not very educated or do not know how to operate a computer, then do not worry at all:

  • Visit CSC Centre: Visit the ‘Common Service Centre’ nearest to your house. Go there with Aadhar card, ration card and bank passbook.
  • Biometric Identification: Get your identity verified by giving your fingerprints on the machine there. This is absolutely free or at a very nominal charge.
  • Registration Form: Your application will be filled online from there. Once submitted you will get a registration number.
  • Officials will investigate: There will be a slight check of your work at the Panchayat or District level to see whether you actually do that work or not, and after that your name will appear in the list.

Start the new year 2026 by growing your own business. This government help can transform your small work into a big workshop. Don’t delay in applying, as this scheme is a strong foundation for you and your children’s future.
