These Indian players will have to give fitness test for Asia Cup Gujarati
With only a month left for the start of the Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament, there is uncertainty regarding the fitness of Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav and the team’s mainstay all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
In this situation, both these players will have to undergo a fitness test before the Asia Cup. According to a report, before the selection of the Indian team for the Asia Cup, Hardik Pandya will undergo a routine fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
The selection committee will consider him based on his fitness assessment and report. Hardik Pandya last played one-day for India against New Zealand in March. However, after that he played for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket tournament. Under his leadership, Mumbai team entered the play-offs of IPL 2025.
Hardik’s fellow Mumbai Indians cricketer and Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav is also not fully fit yet. He is also staying at NCA for one more week. The physio at MCA and the medical team of the board will check Suryani’s fitness.
It is noteworthy that after IPL, Suryakumar Yadve had undergone sports hernia surgery in Germany. After that he did not play any international match. Thus, Suryakumar Yadav will also have to improve his fitness before the Asia Cup to be held in United Arab Emirates.
Apart from this, the Indian selectors will test the fitness of Hardik and Suryakumar Yadav and in case they are not fit, the selectors will also have to search for a new captain. Recently, the Indian team had toured England and very exciting cricket was seen there. India was successful in drawing the five-Test series under the leadership of Shubhman Gill.
