Third railway line will be built in Bihar: great news for these districts

Patna. A major step has been taken towards strengthening rail connectivity in Bihar. The plan to lay the third railway line on Kiul-Jhajha railway section has been approved. This 54 km long project will not only reduce the traffic pressure of the region, but will also make the rail network of Eastern India more modern and efficient.

Development will be done at a cost of Rs 962 crore

About Rs 962 crore will be spent on this project. The route is already considered one of the busiest rail sections in the country, as it is part of important high-density corridors like Howrah-Delhi. The need for a third line was being felt for a long time in view of the increasing number of trains and freight pressure.

Crowd will reduce, speed of trains will increase

At present, despite having double line on this route, the traffic pressure is very high. Many times trains have to stop at signals, which affects punctuality. After the construction of the new line, the movement of trains will become more smooth and the problem of delay is expected to reduce significantly. This will improve the operation of passenger trains as well as goods trains. Especially those trains which cover long distances and connect industrial areas will benefit.

Business connectivity will get a boost

This railway section plays an important role in connecting major ports like Kolkata and Haldia with Bihar, Raxaul and Nepal border. Apart from this, it also has a direct impact on the transportation of goods in industrial areas like Barauni and power generation units. The construction of the new line will strengthen the logistics network and give impetus to trade activities between eastern and northern India.
