Third shock in a week: Earth trembles again in Myanmar, earthquake of 4.4 magnitude recorded

Naypyidaw (Myanmar), December 18: Earthquake tremors were felt this morning in Myanmar. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale. The National Seismological Center of India has confirmed this. There is no immediate information about any loss of life or property due to the earthquake. Earthquake tremors have also been felt in Myanmar on 11 and 10 December. According to the National Seismology Centre, an earthquake of 4.4 magnitude occurred in Myanmar this morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was at 26.07 north latitude and 97.00 east longitude. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 100 kilometers. Geologists say Myanmar is vulnerable to threats from medium and large earthquakes and tsunamis along its long coastline. The World Health Organization warned of a series of rapidly increasing health risks for thousands of displaced people in quake-hit areas after the 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude earthquakes that struck central Myanmar on March 28, according to the center.
