The film we’re talking about is Chandu Champion, starring Kartik Aaryan, which was released in June this year. Kartik’s performance was widely appreciated by both audiences and critics, but the film couldn’t live up to expectations at the box office. Recently, Kartik revealed that in order to secure the lead role in the film, he had to lie to director Kabir Khan about his swimming skills. This lie eventually led him to spend a year and a half learning how to swim.

The Big Lie for the Role

In a recent interview, Kartik shared how he had lied when Kabir Khan asked if he could swim. He said, “Yes, I can swim,” even though he didn’t know how. Kartik admitted that this small lie ended up costing him a year and a half of intensive swimming training. He recalled, “It was a one-and-a-half-minute lie, but it cost me a year and a half.” Despite the challenges, Kartik said he loved the script and was excited to take on the role.
