He gained fame in the film industry through his brilliant roles. He also shared screen space with superstars like Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore and more. We are talking about none other than Mr. Om Prakash, who was a well-known character actor, renowned mostly for his comic roles.

Before embarking on his acting journey, Prakash used to work for all Indian Radio Jockey. He was known as Fatehi Din, a name for his radio channel. His programs made him popular across Punjab. The actor used to earn Rs 25 monthly for his work as RJ. Apart from music, Prakash was interested in theatres and films.
His destiny changed when filmmaker Dalsukh Pancholi saw him at a wedding. He asked to seem at him at his Lahore office. Prakash got his first break in Dalsukh Pancholi’s movie That's it. Helmed by Hiren Bose, the 1994-starrer was a superhit. Prakash has acted in over 307 films and gave hits like Azaad, Miss Mary, Howrah Bridge, Dus Lakh, Padosan, Sadhu Aur Shaitaan and Dil Daulat Duniya. The actor also produced film Jahan Arawhich starred Bharat Bhushan, Shashikala, Prithviraj Kapoor and Mala Sinha. It was directed by Vinod Kumar and was released in 1964.
Om Prakash fell in love with his fan but never married her
Apart from his acting prowess, Prakash grabbed headlines for his personal life too. According to media reports, he met a fan while working as a radio jockey. The girl used to visit the him at the studio, from where there their love started to blossom. Unfortunately, the couple’s love never converted to marriage due to intercast differences among their families.
Later, Om Prakash got married to a girl named Prabha Chibber. As per reports by ABP, Chibber’s father saw Prakash standing at a paan shop. He asked him to marry his daughter and the actor agreed to his request.
Om Prakash passed away to due to multiple heart attacks followed by a coma on February 21, 1998
