Jayalakshmi's acting career spanned just a decade, during which she featured in over 60 films. She made her debut in the 1972 Telugu film Iddaru Ammayilu, starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the lead role.
How She Got the Name ‘Fatafat’
Jayalakshmi earned the nickname Fatafat Jayalakshmi thanks to a popular dialogue she delivered in one of her films. The term caught on with audiences, and she gained immense popularity, with the name becoming synonymous with her vibrant personality and acting prowess.
A Star Among Legends

The two decided to marry, and Jayalakshmi subsequently stepped away from the film industry. However, her marriage brought immense challenges and turmoil. Unable to cope with the struggles in her personal life, Jayalakshmi tragically ended her life at the tender age of 22.
