In 1979, Reena Roy starred in Raj Kumar Kohli’s Contest alongside her then rumoured boyfriend Shatrughan Sinha. The film was very successful at the box office. Rumours of a romance brewing between the two actors started circulating. The only problem was that not only was Sinha 11 years Reena’s senior but also married.

Reena Roy left showbiz very early. She was only 28 in 1983 when she quit films. She was at the peak of her career and then surprised everyone by marrying Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan and moving across the border. However, their marriage faced significant challenges, and the couple eventually parted ways. It has been reported that in 1992, Reena went through a difficult period during and after the marriage, including emotional struggles. After their divorce, she returned to India with their daughter.
