This Akhara of Mahakumbh has its own separate court, a team of 17 people; This is how the decision is made
Mahakumbh 2025: Juna Akhara is a major Shaivite sect of India, famous for its rules and discipline. There is a special judiciary system in this Akhara, which takes action against any indiscipline against society, religion and Akhara. Ashtakoushal Mahant Dr. Yoganand Giri Ji Maharaj told that Juna Akhara has been following the tradition of giving justice since its inception.
How does the court of Juna Akhara work?
Let us tell you that there is a 17-member judiciary team in Juna Akhara, which conducts the judicial process. If any kind of allegation is made against any member of the Akhara, then that person can appeal to this judiciary.
After receiving the complaint:-
- The complaint is examined to see whether the case is worthy of hearing or not.
- If found worthy of hearing, a meeting is called to hear both the parties.
- The 17-member team listens to the arguments of both sides and takes the decision with collective consent.
- If the complaint is not considered meritorious, the complainant may be punished.
Who is in the 17-member team?
The Judiciary of Juna Akhara consists of 17 key members:-
International President (Chairman)
4 Shrimahant
4 secretary
4 Shrimahant Thanapati (headquarters from Varanasi)
4 Ashtakoushal Mahant
The final decision is taken only with the consent of all these members.
How is a meeting held in an emergency?
Let us tell you that if any emergency comes up, then a minimum of 24 hours is given to the members to attend the meeting. Presence of all members is mandatory, so that fair decisions can be taken.
Where does this tradition apply?
Apart from this, let us tell you that this judicial tradition is mainly applicable in Shaiva Akharas. This tradition is seen especially where Ramta Panch is arranged. Ramta Panch runs the judicial system of the Akharas.
However, Juna Akhara not only follows religious traditions but also maintains discipline and impartiality through its judiciary. This system sets an exemplary example for the saints and members of the Akhara.
