Kia Seltos It has received a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP’s crash testing. The car scored 31.70 out of 32 points for adult safety and 45 out of 49 points for child safety. This rating applies to all variants of the Seltos. BNCAP specifically tested the diesel-automatic models of the car, namely HTE (O) and GTX. Interestingly, the performance of the Seltos has been marginally better than the Tata Sierra.
How does this car provide safety?
The Kia Seltos provides good protection for the driver’s head, thighs and lower right leg. However, the lower part of the left leg and both legs received adequate protection. On the other hand, all the important body parts of the front seat passenger got better protection. Even in side impact testing, both the driver and the front passenger received good protection for the most important body parts, such as the head, chest, abdomen and buttocks.

It scored 16 out of 15.70 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, while the side movable deformable barrier test scored a perfect 16 out of 16.
Child Safety Score
The Kia Seltos scores 45 out of 49 overall for child safety. It scores 24 out of 24 in Dynamic Safety and 12 out of 12 in CRS (Child Restraint System). However, the overall score was a bit low as she scored 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment.
Dummy models of 18-month and 3-year-old children were used during the crash test. In the front and side impact tests, the Seltos excelled and scored full marks. However, the total score remained 45 due to 4 points less in vehicle assessment.

Safety features
In terms of passenger safety, all variants of the Seltos come with features like 6 airbags, parking sensors, rear view camera, ABS, TPMS, ESC, stability control and hill start assist. Apart from this, disc brakes, downhill brake control and child seat mounts (ISOFIX) are also available on all wheels.
Price and competition
The Kia Seltos is priced between ₹ 10.99 lakh and ₹ 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, the car competes with SUVs like Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
