New Delhi:- According to mythology, when nectar came out during the churning of the ocean, there was a dispute between the gods and demons over drinking it. Meanwhile, a demon ran away with it, due to which Lord Vishnu brought it back in the form of Mohini. Also, it was made to sit in two rows to divide it between gods and demons.

After this, when Lord Vishnu in the form of Mohini started distributing the nectar, a demon Rahu realized that the nectar might run out as the number of demons increased. On this Rahu got up from his row and sat in the row of gods. But Sun and Moon recognized this action of Rahu and informed Lord Vishnu about it.

Here, the drop of nectar had already entered Rahu's mouth, but by the time the drop of nectar went down Rahu's throat. Angered by changing the line and breaking the rules, Lord Vishnu beheaded Rahu with the help of Sudarshan Chakra. Due to this Rahu's body broke into two pieces. The head part of Rahu came to be known as Rahu and the torso part came to be known as Ketu.

According to the story, after Rahu's head was separated from his body, his saliva fell from Rahu's mouth on the earth. This gave birth to garlic and its color became white. Ketu's blood from his torso fell on the earth, from this onion was born and its color turned red. Since they originated from the saliva of Rahu and the blood of Ketu, they also emit a strange smell. It creates vindictiveness and consuming it increases impulsiveness and anger. For this reason it is not considered good to eat them. Due to the cutting of the head, a drop of nectar fell on the earth, hence Giloy was born.

Giloy is the most effective medicine to increase immunity.

Giloy leaves are like betel leaves. It is also known by the names Amrita, Guduchi, Chhinnaruha, Chakrangi. In Ayurveda, it is considered the most important medicine to provide relief from fever. That is why it is called Jeevantika. Giloy's creeper is generally found climbing in a circular shape in places like forests, ridges of fields, rocks of mountains etc. It is also found around Neem and Mango trees. The qualities of the tree on which it takes its base are also included in it.

From this point of view, Giloy mounted on Neem is considered the best medicine. Its stem is as thick as a little finger to a thumb. However, in very old Giloy it can be as thick as an arm. Roots emerge from it at various places and keep swinging downwards. The roots on the rocks or ridges of the fields penetrate into the ground and give rise to other vines. Giloy is used to fight various diseases and increase immunity. Therefore, this medicine was used extensively throughout the world during the Corona period.
