‘This decision of ours will echo for centuries’ PM Narendra Modi thundered in Oman

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Muscat, the capital of Oman, on 17 December 2025. This was the last stop of his three-country tour. Here he addressed the Indian community and participated in the India-Oman Business Conference. During this, he praised the strong relations between the two countries and announced a big economic agreement. This visit holds special significance on completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Address to the Indian community

PM Modi met thousands of Indians at the ‘Maitri Parv’ program in Muscat. People raised slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Modi said that he is seeing a mini India in Oman. Wherever Indians go, they respect the local culture and mingle easily.

He described India’s diversity as the strong foundation of its culture. Every festival and tradition brings new thoughts. Congratulated on completion of 50 years of Indian schools in Oman. About 46 thousand students study here, including Omani children. Modi called NRIs the biggest guardians of the friendship between the two countries.

PM Modi made a big announcement in the India-Oman business conference. He said that we are taking such a historic decision, whose echo will be heard for many decades to come. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will give new strength and energy to the partnership between the two countries.

This agreement will accelerate trade, give confidence to investment and open new opportunities in every sector. Modi called it a blue print of a shared future. Describing Oman as India’s close maritime neighbor, he said that India’s progress will also benefit Oman.

Emphasis on India’s new strength

PM Modi said that India of the 21st century takes big and fast decisions. Sets big goals and delivers results on time. In the last 11 years, India has not only changed its economic policies, but has also changed its economic DNA. He mentioned about Diwali being included in UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list.

Now the Indian lamp will illuminate not just homes but the entire world. Gave a message to the youth to dream big, learn deeply and innovate with courage. This tour will prove to give new heights to India-Oman relations. Both countries will come closer in trade, energy, defense and culture.
