This Gut-Friendly Soda is My Go-To Drink For Dry January

I’ve never been much of a drinker. On the occasions that I’ve had an alcoholic beverage, I either didn’t love how it made me feel or just didn’t enjoy the taste. When it comes to refreshment, I’m much more likely to enjoy a bubbly soda, fruity tea or a bold iced coffee. So when I had the opportunity to test out Culture Pop’s lineup of gut-friendly sodas, I hoped to find some new favorites—and I was not disappointed.

Culture Pop’s sodas are made with organic fruit juices, spices and herbs, and they contain live probiotics that can help support healthy digestion. It’s also worth noting that these drinks don’t contain refined sugar or sugar alternatives, so they’re a healthier choice compared to my usual sugary sodas (sorry, Dr. Pepper). Of the eight flavors in their lineup, three became my go-to choices: Watermelon & Lime; Orange, Mango & Lime; and Ginger, Lemon & Turmeric.

As I mentioned, the drinks are naturally sweetened with fruit juices, and those fruity flavors really came through in these three. I initially had low expectations for the watermelon variety, since I’ve never found a watermelon drink that didn’t taste artificial.

Fortunately, this drink tasted like summertime, a welcome treat during the cold winter weather. The Orange, Mango & Lime was also a bright and refreshing option, with a citrus-forward flavor that had a balanced sweetness. The Ginger, Lemon & Turmeric flavor was reminiscent of ginger ale, and had that delightful hit of spice from the ginger that paired perfectly with the brightness from the lemon.

Whether you’re looking for alternatives to sugary sodas or want a refreshing bubbly drink to replace your usual cocktail during Dry January, I highly suggest trying out Culture Pop’s beverages. You can even try incorporating them into some of our mocktail recipes like our Anti-Inflammatory Sangria Mocktail or Watermelon-Lime Mocktail for a refreshing spin on popular recipes.
