‘This is my last meeting’, what did PM Modi say at the Vijay Sankalp rally in Bengal?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally in Barrackpore, West Bengal on Monday. This rally took place before the voting for the second phase of assembly elections. PM Modi talked about his old association with Bengal and said that after the results are declared on May 4, BJP will win.
Speaking at the rally, the Prime Minister said that Bengal holds a very special place in his life and spiritual journey. He said, ‘My attachment towards Bengal has been due to my dedication towards power. It has been the powerhouse of my personal spiritual journey. I have been inspired by the great personalities of Bengal and the love of the people. I consider the experiences I got on this land of Bengal as my great good fortune.

told the last election meeting
PM Modi described this rally in Barrackpur as his last election rally in West Bengal. He said, ‘This is my last rally of this election. Wherever I have gone across Bengal, I have seen the mood of the people. I am saying with full confidence that after the results are declared on May 4, I will have to return to Bengal to attend the swearing-in ceremony of BJP.
The Prime Minister talked about the love he received from the people during rallies and roadshows. He said, ‘I received heartfelt messages and pictures at the rallies and roadshows in Bengal. I can never forget them. At night after the show, I look at each picture carefully. I read your messages and letters. In some your pain is visible and in others your blessings. Later, I get my answers recorded after thinking carefully.
Told Bengal as family
Discussing his long political journey, PM Modi said that he has been roaming in every corner of the country for the last 3-4 decades. After joining BJP, he performed every responsibility as a party worker. He said, ‘I don’t look at day and night, I don’t look at the weather, I just keep moving forward. After leaving home I have found rest and peace among you all. You are my family.
This rally took place in support of BJP candidate Kaustav Bagchi. His competition is Trinamool Congress candidate film director Raj Chakraborty (Raju Chakraborty), who is trying to become MLA for the second time. Whereas CPI(M) candidate Suman Ranjan Bandyopadhyay is attacking both the parties.
Had darshan in Kali temple
Barrackpore assembly seat is in North 24 Parganas district. It is an urban seat and falls under the Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency. On Sunday, PM Modi visited Maa Kali at the 300-year-old Thanthania Kalibari temple and sought blessings before the roadshow in North Kolkata.
Voting for the first phase of the elections took place on Thursday, in which 91.78 percent voting took place. The second phase of voting will be held on April 29 and counting of votes will take place on May 4.
Mention of the war of 1857
At the rally, PM Modi reminded the first war of independence in 1857 and said that Barrackpore, from where the first spark of independence was lit, will now ensure ‘change’. He said that the people of Bengal have given him a lot of love and support.
PM Modi strongly attacked Trinamool Congress (TMC). He said that after coming to power, TMC completely forgot its slogan ‘Ma, Mati, Manush’. PM Modi alleged that TMC did nothing for the safety of women, farmers and youth. He said that TMC’s method is based only on abuses, lies and threats.
Accusation of insulting the army
The Prime Minister also accused TMC of insulting the army and constitutional institutions. He said that TMC has not shown any report card of its work and there is no roadmap for the future of Bengal.
PM Modi again expressed confidence that after May 4, he will come to Bengal to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP Chief Minister. He said, ‘The people of West Bengal are my family. After May 4, I will come to Bengal to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP Chief Minister.
He said that the country will progress only when Anga (Bihar), Banga (Bengal) and Kalinga (Odisha) are strong. PM Modi described ‘Vande Mataram’ as the mantra of independence and said that now it will become the guide for the reconstruction of Bengal.
Mentioned about industrial mills
Referring to about a dozen industrial mills closed in Barrackpore, PM Modi accused TMC of running ‘syndicate rule’. He promised that ‘Janata Raj’ will be established here if the BJP government comes to power.
Speaking on jobs and welfare schemes, the Prime Minister said that after the formation of the BJP government, government jobs will be given in a transparent manner. He mentioned many schemes like giving benefits of 7th Pay Commission, 125 days employment guarantee, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, PM Swanidhi Yojana.

How will Bengal develop?
PM Modi said that all these are ‘Modi’s guarantees’. He appealed to the voters to elect the Chief Minister of BJP so that Bengal can develop with the ‘double engine’ government. The second phase of voting on April 29 will be very important. Election activities are at its peak across the state and all parties are making their final push.
