Addressing the public meeting, PM Modi said that this is not just an inauguration, but a new beginning. He asked the people present whether the airport had been inaugurated. When the crowd replied “yes”, the PM smiled and said that he had just “raised the curtain” and the real inauguration would be for the public.

After this he urged everyone to take out their mobile phones and turn on the flash light. As thousands of people switched on the lights of their mobile phones, PM Modi described it as a symbolic inauguration of the airport. He said, “This is your trust, your future, your efforts… that is why it is also being inaugurated by your hands.”

During this, there was enthusiasm in the entire atmosphere and people raised slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” along with PM Modi. He said that this airport is not just an infrastructure project but is linked to the dreams and future of the youth.

The Prime Minister also said that the airport network is expanding rapidly in the country and now air travel facilities are reaching small cities. Referring to the “Develop UP, Develop India” campaign, he said that this project is an important step in that direction.

Expressing pride in his address, PM Modi said that he got the opportunity to both lay the foundation stone and inaugurate this airport. He also said that the identity of the same state of Uttar Pradesh which made him MP will now be strengthened by this world class airport.
