This journey is no less than a dream come true – Vicky Kaushal
NEW DELHI New Delhi: Actor Vicky Kaushal describes his journey in cinema so far as no less than a dream come true and he feels grateful for getting the opportunity to play some of the best characters of his career. On Friday evening, Kaushal Participated in CNN-News18's Indian of the Year Awards, where she was honored with the honor of Youth Icon of 2024. During his speech, the actor talked about how his parents have always taught him to be the best person he can be.
Vicky, 36, said, “I had only one plan and that plan was to be extremely honest towards my work, towards myself and towards the people around me. My parents also said that if you become an actor, It's okay to be 7 out of 10 as a person, but try to be 10 out of 10 as a person. And that's what I try to be.” He said, “I feel blessed and this journey has been nothing short of a dream come true… I got to work with some of the best directors in the business. I got to play some of the best characters. Found – Shaheed Udham Singh ('Sardar Udham'), Sam Manekshaw ('Sam') and now Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 'Chhawa'.”
Kaushal plays the role of Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in 'Chhaava', which will be released in theaters on February 14. The upcoming film is directed by Laxman Utekar. Kaushal said that when the director first discussed the project with him, the first thought in his mind was whether he would be able to do justice to the legacy of the historical figure. “The first feeling was just, 'Will I be able to do justice to such an incredible legacy?' But this is what excites me the most. Also, whenever you meet a great man like Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, it is a beautiful opportunity to understand his culture, his history, his values, his beliefs and his love for the country. It happens,” said the actor. Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, “Chhaava” also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna.
