Their names are synonymous with success and stardom. However, there is another Khan who has quietly surpassed all expectations. This actor, whose box-office earnings have crossed an astonishing Rs 25,000 crores, showcased that stardom comes in many forms. We are talking about the legendary actor, Irrfan Khan.

Interestingly, Irrfan Khan’s worldwide box office collections reportedly exceed those of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan combined. According to Hindustan TimesShah Rukh Khan’s films have earned around Rs 9,000 crores, Salman Khan’s total box office collection is Rs 7,000 crores, and Aamir Khan’s is Rs 6,500 crores. In total, that’s Rs 22,000 crores. On the other hand, Irrfan Khan’s films brought in over Rs 25,000 crores globally.

Irrfan Khan was born in 1967 in Tonk, Rajasthan. While he was good at cricket in his younger days, he found his true passion in acting. He was inspired by his maternal uncle, a theatre artist, and later joined the National School of Drama in Delhi in 1984. He made his acting debut with a small role in Mira Nair’s Hello Bombay!. The actor’s career spanned over 30 years, and he became one of the finest actors in world cinema. Some of his standout roles include Haasil (2003), Maqbool (2004), Paan Singh Tomar (2012), and Hindi Medium (2017). In Hollywood, he starred in major films like Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man, Inferno, and Life of Pi.

Sadly, Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020 after a battle with cancer. But his legacy lives on through his incredible body of work, both in Bollywood and Hollywood, making him a true global icon.
