In the era of technology, the use of mobile phones has increased, not only this, people are spending maximum time on mobile phones. Meanwhile, excessive use of social media platforms is known to cause many health problems.

A recent study has found that addiction to watching short videos on social media platforms can cause high blood pressure and hypertension. The study, published in the European Heart Journal – Digital Health, the journal of the European Society of Cardiology, suggests that low levels of radio frequency energy emitted from mobile phones are linked to increased blood pressure and hypertension.

The team analyzed data from 4,318 young and middle-aged people who self-tracked the amount of screen time they spent watching short videos at bedtime. The report also highlighted that screen time at bedtime was significantly associated with essential hypertension in young and middle-aged people.
