This road will be widened in Bihar, good news for the people!

Bhagalpur. Another important step is being taken towards improving the road infrastructure in Bihar. The process of widening and strengthening State Highway-25, which runs from Bhagalpur to Banka via Amarpur, has been expedited. A 44.30 km long stretch of this road will be developed at a cost of about Rs 200 crore, which is expected to provide major relief to lakhs of people in the area.

This road was in a dilapidated condition for a long time and due to the increasing number of vehicles, there was a problem of traffic jam every day. After continuous demand from local people and travelers, now the Road Construction Department has given priority to this project. The work of road widening and strengthening will be done through the work division of Road Construction Department, Banka.

Attention to environmental aspects also

Under the project, 4257 trees present on both sides of the road have been identified. Of these, it is planned to cut 2627 trees and relocate 1630 trees. For this, No Objection Certificate (NOC) is yet to be obtained from the Forest Department. Besides, electrical wires and poles will also be shifted, so that there is no hindrance in the construction work.

Tender process in final round

More than a dozen contracting agencies have submitted tenders for this important project. Scrutiny of technical bids has been completed and now the process of opening financial bids remains, which is likely to be completed within a month. If all administrative and technical formalities are completed on time, construction work can begin as early as the new year.

The road will be 10 meters wide

At present this road is about 7 meters wide, which will be increased to 10 meters after widening. This will not only make traffic smoother and safer, but the pressure of heavy vehicles can also be handled in a better way. Overall, this project will prove to be an important step towards making travel between Bhagalpur, Amarpur and Banka faster, safer and convenient.
