This time will the cold wave attack at night or in the morning? IMD will give accurate alerts every hour
New Delhi: With the onset of winter season in Delhi and North India, the concern about cold wave has increased. This time the Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced to give better warning to the people than before. Now the cold wave forecast will be available hourly, so that you can plan your daily routine according to morning, afternoon, evening or night. This change is to increase the accuracy of cold waves, which are becoming more dangerous due to climate change.
Alert will be received according to time
Earlier IMD used to make only general predictions of cold wave or cold day. Now in the special bulletin it will be told when and at what time the cold wave will have the maximum impact. For example, if the cold increases at night, it would be advisable to cancel night programs. This will protect the elderly and children from danger. IMD says that this updated alert every hour will help in saving lives.
How long will the cold wave last this year?
According to IMD, this winter the cold wave can last 3-5 days more than normal i.e. 7-8 days. It will be at its peak in late December and early January. Cold wave is based on minimum temperature, which brings maximum coldness at 3-5 am in the morning. Dew drops further cool the ground, due to which frost can also appear.
Let us tell you, Cold Day depends on the maximum temperature, when icy winds blow even during the day and there is little heat from the sun. This increases dehydration and diseases.
How to avoid cold wave?
Climate change has made cold wave deadly. Thousands are affected by such cold 3-4 days a day. For protection, wear warm clothes, drink hot water and go out of the house less. Be careful especially in the morning and evening. With hourly warnings from IMD, people will be able to prepare in advance.
