This volcanic island is most searched Vietnamese destination this summer

“With clear waters, stunning landscapes, coral reefs and a quieter pace, Ly Son is emerging as an appealing alternative for travelers looking beyond more crowded island destinations such as Phu Quoc, Phu Quy or Vinh Hy,” Agoda said based on its accommodation searches from Jan. 1 to April 30, 2026, for stays between June 1 to July 31, compared with the same period in 2025.

Ly Son, 30 kilometers off the coast of Quang Ngai, is home to intriguing garlic farms and beautiful crystal-clear seas surrounded by a ring of reefs.

The island, a district covering around 10 square kilometers, is known as the kingdom of garlic and onions, and is one of a few volcanic islands in Vietnam. Ly Son consists of three islands, Dao Lon (Big Island), also known as Cu Lao Re, Dao Be (Small Island) or An Binh Island, and an uninhabited Mu Cu Islet.

April to August is an ideal time to visit Ly Son, when there is little rain and lots of sunshine.

The other destinations in the most searched list were Ninh Binh, Mai Chau, Mang Den and Tay Ninh.
