Threat 60 hours ago, now Trump backed down! Claim of ‘productive’ talks with Iran, but Iran denies

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump said on Monday that his government is holding “productive” talks with Iran. He postponed the threat of attacking Iran’s energy facilities for 5 days. Trump claimed that both the countries are moving towards peace, but Iran clearly said that no talks are taking place. Meanwhile, the fourth week of the war is going on and the fighting is still going on.

The finger on Pete Hegseth?

Now the discussion about deciding the responsibility for starting the war has intensified within America. “Pete, you were the first one to say, let’s do it, because they shouldn’t get nuclear weapons,” Trump said at an event in Tennessee, pointing to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Many people are considering this as an attempt to make Hegseth a scapegoat, because the war is not going on as per Trump’s promise of “quick and decisive”.

role of pakistan mediator

Pakistan is playing an important role in ending this conflict. Pak Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir spoke to Trump on Sunday. After this, Pak Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif discussed with the Iranian President on phone. Officials from Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan are in contact with Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the Iranian Foreign Minister. A proposal to make Pakistan’s capital Islamabad the venue for talks has also come forward.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry said that Islamabad is always ready if both the sides wish. The Egyptian Foreign Minister also discussed “possible talks” with Witkoff. Also, Pakistan is said to be a part of the “STEP” group along with Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt.

Fall in oil prices

After Trump’s announcement, oil prices fell sharply. Some people bet in advance on falling oil prices and made huge profits. There is discussion in the market whether insider information was leaked or used by someone, resulting in a profit of up to 100 million dollars.

Iran’s stance

Iran says that Trump backed down because Iran had warned of attacks on American bases in Gulf countries. At present there are signs that the war has stopped, but the fighting is still going on. Trump’s son-in-law Kushner and friend Steve Witkoff are said to be involved in the talks.
