Threat to bomb Delhi Assembly, security agencies alert
Concerns regarding security in the national capital have once again increased. There was panic among the administration and security agencies after receiving an e-mail threatening to blow up the Delhi Assembly on Thursday morning. This incident is being considered even more serious after the recent security lapse in the assembly complex.
The mail came at around 8 in the morning
According to the information, this suspicious e-mail was received on April 9, 2026 at around 8:14 am. This mail was sent from an ID with a foreign name and it contained a threat related to explosion. Not only this, investigation revealed that the same e-mail has also been sent to many official e-mail addresses of the Delhi government, which has further increased the concern of the security agencies.
Inciting and objectionable language was used in the content of the e-mail. Along with warning of a blast in the capital, separatist slogans were also written in it. Also, while mentioning the suicide attack, some possible places and time were also indicated, in view of which the matter is being considered very sensitive.
Earlier on Monday also, a major lapse in the security of Delhi Assembly had come to light, when a person broke the barrier of VVIP Gate No. 2 in a high-speed car and entered the premises. After the incident the accused had fled from the spot. However, the police caught him within a few hours. This incident had already raised questions on the security arrangements.
Security agencies alert
Now the latest threatening e-mail has made the security agencies more alert. Police and other investigating agencies are busy identifying the origin of this e-mail and the people behind it. Also, security at all sensitive sites has been increased and investigation is being done from every aspect.
Officials say that such threats are being taken very seriously and necessary steps are being taken to avert any possible danger. The administration is fully alert to maintain law and order in the capital and ensure the safety of the people.
