Three Maoists Killed in Sukma Encounter, Operation Ongoing
Three Maoists, including a woman, died in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
The exchange of fire began in the morning on a forested hill under the Golapalli police station area. A team of the District Reserve Guard launched a search operation after receiving inputs about the Maoist presence. Consequently, the Maoists opened fire, and security forces retaliated. Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan confirmed that three bodies, including that of a woman, were recovered from the site.
Meanwhile, the operation continues, and officials expect further details as the search progresses. With this latest action, the number of Maoists killed in encounters across Chhattisgarh this year has risen to 284.
Of these, 255 were eliminated in the Bastar division, which includes Sukma, Bijapur, and Dantewada. Additionally, 27 Maoists were gunned down in Gariaband district under the Raipur division, while two were killed in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district in the Durg division.
