Three new airlines ready to fly in the sky! Government gives green signal to Al Hind, Flyexpress and Shankh Air

New Delhi. Al Hind Air and FlyExpress are ready to take off soon. These aviation companies have received No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Civil Aviation Ministry. Apart from these two companies, Uttar Pradesh based Shankha Air has already received NOC. It is likely to begin operations in 2026. The Ministry is keen to bring in more aviation operators in the country which is one of the fastest growing domestic civil aviation markets in the world. Currently, there are nine regular domestic airlines serving the country. Regional airline Fly Big had suspended regular flights in October. IndiGo and Air India group (Air India and Air India Express) have more than 90 percent share in the domestic market.

Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu wrote on social media platform Shankha Air has already received NOC from the ministry. Whereas Al Hind Air and FlyExpress got NOC this week.

He said it has been the ministry’s endeavor to encourage more aviation companies into the Indian aviation sector which is one of the fastest growing aviation markets. The minister said schemes like ‘UDAN’ have enabled small aviation companies like Star Air, India One Air and Fly91 to play an important role in regional connectivity within the country and there is further scope for growth in the future.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, apart from Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo and public sector Alliance Air, other airlines are Akasa Air, SpiceJet, Star Air, Fly91 and IndiaOne Air. Many airlines, including Go First and Jet Airways, have shut down their flight services in the last few years due to debt burden.
