Television actress Shweta Tiwari is one of the most loved names in the industry. She became a household name with popular shows like His Life, Caring, Begusarai, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Aparajita and Main Hoon Aparajita. While she has enjoyed a successful career, her personal life has been full of challenges.

Shweta Reportedly Handed Over Her Malad Flat

As per a report by Hindustan TimesShweta Tiwari gave Raja Chaudhary a one-bedroom flat in Mumbai’s Malad area as part of their divorce settlement. The property, which was jointly owned by the former couple, was reportedly worth around Rs. 93 lakh at that time.

The report further stated that Shweta’s legal team had suggested making the flat jointly owned by Raja and their daughter, Palak Tiwari. However, Raja reportedly wanted the property to be transferred solely in his name.

This decision is said to have deeply upset Shweta, as she believed their daughter’s future should have been given priority. Despite this, she reportedly agreed to the settlement to bring the long legal battle to an end.

Why Shweta Didn’t End The Marriage Earlier

In an interview with Galatta India, Shweta spoke about why she stayed in the marriage for so long. She shared that although she was financially independent, emotional and family pressures made the decision to seek a divorce extremely difficult.

The actress revealed that hers was a love marriage and an inter-caste marriage, something that had already invited criticism from relatives and society. She feared that a divorce would bring even more judgment upon her family.

She Wanted Palak To Grow Up With A Father

Shweta also admitted that one of the biggest reasons she stayed in the marriage was because she wanted her daughter, Palak Tiwari, to grow up with both parents.

However, over time, she realised that a child can only have a healthy upbringing if the family environment is peaceful. She felt that staying in an unhappy relationship was not good for anyone.

For those unaware, Shweta and Raja Chaudhary got married in 1998. She filed for divorce in 2007, citing domestic violence and his drinking problems. Looking back, the actress has shared that if two people cannot live happily together, it is better to part ways rather than continue in an unhealthy relationship.

Shweta Tiwari’s journey reflects the difficult choices many people face while trying to balance personal happiness, family responsibilities and their children’s well-being.
