Throwback: Why did Rakesh Roshan fire Gulshan Grover from Karan Arjun? Revealed!
New Delhi: If we talk about the most memorable films in Bollywood, Karan Arjun definitely holds a special place on the list. Even almost three decades after its release, this fantasy action masala movie remains a favourite among cinema lovers and continues to attract viewers on OTT platforms. But did you know actor Gulshan Grover was originally a part of the film? Yes, you read that right! In a shocking turn of events, the 69-year-old star was fired from the sets by director Rakesh Roshan. Why, you ask? Well, let us enlighten you.
According to an indiatoday.in report, in a recent conversation with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, the 65-year-old filmmaker revealed that Gulshan was replaced by Aasif Sheikh in Karan Arjun. Rakesh Roshan stated that the Bad Man of Hindi cinema was his first choice for the film. But, he was involved in numerous projects at the time.
As a result, Gulshan would reportedly show up at 4 PM for an 11 AM call time. After noticing this for a few days, Rakesh confronted Gulshan and told him that such behaviour could not continue. Gulshan then suggested taking a few close-up shots of him before letting him leave. However, Rakesh was not convinced by this approach. Ultimately, Gulshan was asked to step away from the project.
