‘Thug Life’ sets release date on Kamal Haasan’s milestone birthday

A major event in Indian cinema comes along. A very rarely seen reunion of Kamal Haasan with master filmmaker Mani Ratnam after 37 years since the classic Nayakan. His reinstatement with Thug Life is at last an action-packed gangster drama that promises intense performances and high stakes storytelling.

As a birthday gift to the superstar – Haasan’s 70th birthday – this teaser for the date of its release excited and set a date for the film’s official release, June 5, 2025. The rugged look in gritty combat scenes lends a realism and depth to the character, and also curbs curiosity about the timeline of the film with regard to the dual portrayal by Haasan.

Cinematography by Ravi K Chandran is sure to be a visual treat. And AR Rahman’s score would take the film to immense heights of impact.
