Railways’ strictness on ticket cancellation in Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat-II, know the new rules

Train Ticket Cancellation Rule: Indian Railways is continuously upgrading itself to provide modern and comfortable travel to the passengers. Moving forward in this direction, operation of semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat-II trains has been started on different routes in the country. Both these trains are being considered a big achievement in the history of railways, because more modern facilities are being provided to the passengers than ever before. However, along with these premium facilities, the rules for ticket cancellation have also been made stricter than before.

What are the new rules of Railways?

• According to railway rules, if a passenger cancels the ticket 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of the train, 25 percent of the total ticket amount will be deducted as cancellation charge. At the same time, if the ticket is canceled between 8 hours to 72 hours before the departure of the train, 50 percent of the amount will be deducted. If a passenger cancels the ticket within 8 hours of the departure time of the train, he will not get any refund.

Strict rules for Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat-II

The Railway Ministry says that every passenger is guaranteed a confirmed berth in Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat-II trains, that is why their cancellation rules have been made more strict than other trains. The same rules that have been fixed for Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be applicable on reserved tickets of Amrit Bharat-II Express. However, the old rules will remain applicable on unreserved tickets of Amrit Bharat-II, which will provide some relief to the passengers.

Overall, if you are planning to travel in these premium trains, it is important to be completely sure about your journey while booking tickets. Because in case of ticket cancellation, passengers may have to pay heavy cancellation charges.
