Tickets in India start at just Rs 100, ICC makes more than 20 lakh tickets available

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday that the sale of tickets for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has started. This tournament will be played from 7 February to 8 March 2026 and will be jointly organized by India and Sri Lanka.

Ticket prices are quite affordable

In the tournament, the ticket prices have been kept very affordable so that the fans get a chance to sit in the stadium and enjoy the match. The sale of tickets started at 6:45 pm on 11 December. The starting price of the ticket in India has been kept at only Rs 100, whereas in Sri Lanka the ticket price is LKR 1000 (approximately Rs 295). According to ICC, this time more than 20 lakh tickets will be available for fans, so that more and more people can enjoy the World Cup.

The tournament will start with the match between Pakistan and Netherlands in Colombo. After this, a match will be played between West Indies and Bangladesh in Kolkata. The first match of the Indian team will be against America in Mumbai.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said this first phase of ticket sales is an important step towards creating the most accessible and global ICC event ever. He says that ICC’s goal is that fans of every background, country and economic status can sit in the stadium and experience world-class cricket. With this objective in mind, initial ticket prices have been kept low.

BCCI Secretary praised

At the same time, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia also appreciated this initiative. He said that due to low priced tickets, the excitement about the World Cup in India has increased further. He says that BCCI will ensure that the spectators get a great experience in every match, be it the stadium facilities, security arrangements or the thrill of the match.

Devjit Saikia also said that India’s love and enthusiasm for cricket will be seen at a new level in this tournament. Through this event, the aim of both ICC and BCCI is to bring the thrill of T-20 cricket to as many people as possible and the fans get the real experience of the match while sitting in the stadium.
