- Sesame seeds (fresh, black or white) – 1 cup
- Jaggery – 1/2 cup (grated)
- Ghee – 1 teaspoon
- Water – 1/4 cup (to melt the jaggery)
Method (Til ki Revdi)
- First of all, put sesame seeds in a pan and roast it well on medium flame. Roast the sesame seeds until they turn light golden. Take care that the sesame seeds do not burn.
- Now add jaggery and some water in a pan and heat it on low flame. Melt the jaggery until it becomes like a thick syrup. If you want to add some ghee for taste, you can add it.
- When the jaggery melts well and becomes syrup-like consistency, add sesame seeds to it and mix well. Let the mixture cook for 1-2 more minutes so that the sesame seeds and jaggery get mixed together properly.
- Now pour the mixture into a lightly greased tray or plate. Then press the mixture lightly with your hands and spread it evenly. After cooling for some time, cut this mixture into small pieces. Let the Til Jaggery Revadi cool completely and then serve it easily in a plate.
