US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore on Sunday welcomed Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM). On this occasion, Gore called for steps to further strengthen the growing defense partnership between India and America. “It is a pleasure to welcome Admiral Samuel Paparo to India. Now is the time to strengthen the vital cooperation between our two countries,” Gore wrote on Twitter.

It is noteworthy that from 3 to 4 February, India and America held the 24th Joint Technical Group Plenary Meeting at DRDO Headquarters in New Delhi to increase cooperation in Defense Science and Technology. This meeting was co-chaired by DRDO Director General Dr. Chandrika Kaushik and US Assistant Secretary Michael Francis Dodd.

Let us tell you, according to the Defense Ministry, in this meeting new technologies and strategic needs were discussed to further strengthen the defense cooperation of the two countries. Also, various plans were reviewed to further advance cooperation under the evolving global security environment.

An important Defense Framework Agreement was signed between India and the US earlier this year, laying down a roadmap for military cooperation, strategic partnership and joint projects between the two countries. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth saw it as a new chapter in bilateral relations.
