Leopard seen on Alipiri walkway of Tirupati Balaji, created panic among devotees; video viral
Tirupati Balaji Leopard Spotted : There was panic among the devotees visiting the famous Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh when a leopard was seen on the Alipiri walkway in Tirumala. According to media reports, the incident took place on Friday night near Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, where a large number of devotees were climbing the stairs on foot to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Meanwhile, a stampede-like situation occurred among the people due to the sudden sighting of a leopard on the road. The video of the incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which devotees are seen running here and there after seeing the leopard. However, no one has been reported injured.

Panic created due to sighting of leopard on temple road
As soon as information about the incident was received, the Forest Department team reached the spot. The officials chased the leopard back towards the forest by raising noise and adopting security measures. After this, the administration has increased security arrangements and surveillance on the Alipiri pedestrian route.
In the advisory issued for the devotees, it has been said that no person should travel alone on this route and should always proceed in a group. It has been advised to be extra cautious especially at night.
Also, an appeal has been made to the people that if any wild animal is seen on the way, then do not try to go near it or chase it away and immediately inform the concerned authorities.

Forest department reached the spot and took control of the situation
The Alipiri footpath is the oldest and traditional route from Tirupati to Lord Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala. Devotees have to climb about 3,550 stairs on this approximately 11 kilometer long route. This route passes through the dense forests of Seshachalam, hence there is a possibility of movement of wildlife here.
People have expressed concern after the video went viral. Many social media users have demanded stronger security arrangements on this route, while some people said that now pilgrims traveling on foot need to be more cautious than before.
