Earlier on November 21, the bench of Justice Anil Kshetrapal and Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar had reserved its decision while refusing to grant interim relief to Mahua Moitra. Mahua Moitra has argued that the process adopted by the Lokpal under the Lokpal and Lokayukta Act-2013 was clearly deficient.
What is the whole matter of asking questions while taking money?
Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra is accused of asking questions in Parliament at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had filed a complaint against him. He had claimed that this evidence was provided by lawyer Jai Ananth Dehadrai.
In his letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker, Dubey had said that he had received a letter from lawyer and Mahua’s former friend Jai Ananth, in which he had shared evidence of exchange of bribes for questioning between Moitra and well-known business tycoon Darshan Hiranandani. It appears that Jai has done a detailed research based on which he has concluded that recently, about 50 of the total 61 questions asked by Moitra in Parliament were to protect the business interests of Darshan Hiranandani and his company.
