TMKOC on-set drama? Dilip Joshi threatens to QUIT after physical fight with Asit Modi

New Delhi: Dilip Joshi, best known for his role as Jethalal Champaklal, in the long-running TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. After major actors have left the fan-favourite show, there seems to be new drama between the showmaker, Asit Modi and the star of the show. Reportedly, Dilip Joshi got into a physical altercation with Asit Modi.

According to a report by News18, Dilip Joshi got into a heated argument with Asit Kumarr Modi after the actor requested permission to take a few days off work. The argument escalated as Dilip Joshi threatened to quit the show over the matter. Can the show afford to lose Dilip Joshi’s presence from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

Dilip Joshi’s alleged physical altercation with Asit Modi

According to the unnamed insider, Dilip Joshi requested for a few days from shooting. It is said that the showmaker avoided the conversation which further allegedly angered the actor. Allegedly, Dilip Joshi went as far as grabbing Asit Modi by the collar and threatening to leave the show. The issue was reportedly sorted soon enough. This was not the first argument between the two parties. Dilip Josh and Asit Modi previously got into an argument during the Hong Kong trip shooting. It was fellow actor Guruchara Singh Sodhi who reportedly sorted the differences between them back then.

It is obvious that in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's long runtime, 16  years, the cast and crew are bound to get into arguments. However, losing out on the actor essentially makes or breaks the show, would be disastrous for the sitcom. Dilip Joshi has been playing Jethalal’s role for nearly two decades. However, major characters – Disha Vakani, Raj Anadkat, Bhavya Gandhi, Gurucharan Singh and Jennifer Mistry have left the show.

With the main cast departing from the show, will the constant differences between the cast and crew strain relationships and bring some bad news for fans? Only time will tell.
