TMKOC: Producer Asit Kumarr Modi finally breaks silence on Gurucharan Singh’s exit
New Delhi: Over the years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has emerged as one of the most popular shows on Indian television. Its characters are loved by people of all age groups. Among them, Gurucharan Singh – who portrayed the role of Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi – made a special place in the hearts of viewers with his impeccable comic timing and compelling performance. But, why did he leave the series midway? Recently, producer Asit Kumarr Modi opened up about the same and made an unexpected revelation.
Asit told Times Of India TV that Gurucharan quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on his own and they did not ask him to leave. He added that the renowned actor feels he should have continued to be a part of the sitcom. The 58-year-old producer expressed that one cannot expect anyone to remain a part of the show forever. However, he called it an achievement that most of the actors are still associated with the series.
Further speaking to the media outlet, Asit stated that he is emotionally connected to Gurucharan as he is a good human being. He also extended his prayers, hoping that Gurucharan would make his way out of troubled times.
Gurucharan Singh hospitalised
For the unversed, Gurucharan recently left fans concerned by posting a video on social media from a hospital bed. As his admirers prayed for his speedy recovery, the exact reason behind his ill health was not known.

Also, Gurucharan made headlines earlier in 2024 after he was reported missing. A few days later, Gurucharan returned home, citing that he had undertaken a spiritual journey due to personal challenges.
