Public trust (faith) is the ultimate gift of power to the heroes in this universe; therefore, their powers derive from their amount of trust (popularity), and if distrust/fear is abundant, those with this distrust become monsters. Trust is ranked and quantified. The hero ranked as “#1 Hero” receives the title of “X” every two years after winning a tournament-style battle for the title of “X”.

In Season 1, they followed protagonists, such as Lin Ling (The Commoner), who maneuver through the system through alliances and betrayals, while dealing with the growing number of threats against them.

In Season 2, they will continue directly off the cliffhanger ending of Season 1, and we will experience more intense battles, more deeply developed characters, new villains (possibly with a connection to “Zero”), larger team-ups, and more focus on trust-based mechanics and side characters. These elements will have some influence from fan voting, as they did in Season 1. The addition of fan voting will have a significant effect on Season 2’s story.

Season 2 will be filled with more intense battle action, more depth of emotions, and more twists based on trust within this unique superhero universe of donghua than Season 1 has already shown the viewers. Fans can expect a lot of official news from Bilibili/Aniplex.
