‘Avoid the poisonous air of Delhi…’ Britain, Canada and Singapore issued advisory to their tourists.
Delhi Pollution International Concern: The continuously increasing air pollution in North India including Delhi-NCR has now become a matter of international concern. Due to which some countries have issued travel advisory to their citizens traveling to India. On Monday, Britain, Canada and Singapore have warned their tourists against traveling to India, especially Delhi-NCR.

Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said in a travel advisory – Air pollution becomes a serious health threat during the winter months of October to February in North India. Pregnant women, people suffering from heart and respiratory diseases should consult a doctor before traveling to India. Along with this, it has been warned that the effect of pollution on children, elderly and already sick people can be more serious.
The Canadian Government has said in an advisory that its citizens should regularly monitor air quality, especially those who are suffering from respiratory problems. Along with this, it has been warned that in urban areas like Delhi, the situation of smog and smoke is worst in winter, while in rural areas, stubble burning also affects the air quality.
Singapore High Commission has said in its travel advisory that Singapore citizens living in Delhi-NCR or planning to travel should be cautious in view of the implementation of Stage-4 of GRAP in India. Along with this, people have been advised to keep an eye on the air quality and review the situation before travelling.
