Today, after 42 days, the health system in Bengal is back on track, doctors have started working except this one thing…

Kolkata :- The doctors, who were protesting for 41 days against the brutality with a female trainee doctor in RG Kar Hospital, ended their strike on Friday. All the doctors will return to duty from today, 21 September.

After the protesting doctors held talks with CM Mamata Banerjee, it was decided to end the long-running strike. However, the doctors have announced to end the strike partially, which is why they will work only for essential services. They will not work in OPD for now. They say that Mamata Banerjee has assured that all their demands will be met and the strike will not end completely until the accused in the case is punished.

Assurance received from Mamata government

The junior doctors said that on our demand, Kolkata Police Commissioner, Director of Medical Education and Director of Health Services have been removed. Our demand to remove state Health Secretary NS Nigam and to end the threat culture in hospitals is still continuing.
