After the announcement of the dates of by-elections for Budhni and Vijaypur seats in Madhya Pradesh, political parties have started campaigning. Big leaders of Congress have also started campaigning. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh will address 10 street meetings in different areas in Budhni today. On the other hand, Congress has called Sachin Pilot to Vijaypur tomorrow to attract Gurjar voters.

Sachin Pilot will unveil the statue of Gurjar leader and former MP Tarachand Patel at the beginning of his election tour. After which he will go from Barwah to Vijaypur at around 12:15 pm and will address a public meeting at Karahal in Vijaypur at 2:45 pm.

Former CM Kamal Nath targeted BJP

Tough competition is being seen on both the seats in the by-election. The Election Commission has announced the date of by-elections for these seats along with the elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Budhni seat has become vacant after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan became MP, while Vijaypur seat has become vacant after Congress leader Ramniwas Rawat joined BJP. The Commission has fixed the date of voting on 13th November and declaration of results on 23rd November. Congress has become completely active regarding Budhni by-election.

Senior Congress leaders Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath have started campaigning to break into the stronghold of the former Chief Minister of BJP. In his speech, Kamal Nath fiercely targeted the BJP government and criticized the Shivraj government through schemes like cylinders for Rs 400.

Changes in the dates of these states

The Election Commission has also changed the dates of assembly by-elections to be held in UP, Punjab and Kerala. Now voting for 14 assembly seats in these three states will be held on 20th November instead of 13th November, while the results will be declared on 23rd November only. The Commission has made this change on the demand of BJP, Congress, RLD, and BSP, because due to Kartik Purnima and Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Devji on November 15, voting could be affected.
