Today Weather Update: Clouds in Delhi, rain havoc in Bihar-UP! Meteorological Department issued a big alert for 22 states
New Delhi: Monsoon has once again become active in many parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of strong thunderstorm, lightning and heavy to very heavy rain in 22 states including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain along with lightning and strong winds in many areas during the next 12 hours. People have been advised to remain alert during bad weather.
Weather will change due to low pressure area
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is forming in the North Bay of Bengal. Due to its effect, monsoon will remain very active in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, North-East India and Western Himalayan regions for the next seven days. At present, rainfall activities are likely to be relatively less in the plains of South India, West-Central India and North-West.
Warning of heavy rain in these states
IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and many northeastern states.
People have also been advised to remain alert in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rain in some parts of Odisha.
Keep an eye on these districts in UP and Bihar
There is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in Lucknow, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Kanpur, Agra, Etawah, Banda and many other districts of Uttar Pradesh. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in Prayagraj.
Alert of heavy rain has been issued in Kishanganj and Araria of Bihar. There may be light to moderate rain in Samastipur, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Katihar, Darbhanga, Madhubani and many other districts. However, the weather is expected to remain relatively clear in Patna, Gaya and Nalanda.
Clouds in Delhi-NCR
National capital Delhi and NCR are likely to remain partly cloudy throughout the week. However, there is very little chance of rain today. The maximum temperature can be around 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be around 28 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, humidity may persist in Delhi for the next few days.
Alert in hilly states also
Warning of heavy rain and strong winds has been issued in many districts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In view of the possibility of landslides and waterlogging in hilly areas, local people and tourists have been advised to exercise caution.
