During this period, along with thunder, strong winds at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour are also expected. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert and stay in safe places.

Clouds are hovering over these states

According to IMD, the states where rain alert has been issued include Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, Telangana, Sikkim, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

The Meteorological Department says that torrential rains will continue in many areas of Northeast India as well as Bihar and West Bengal for the next 3-4 days. Particularly heavy rainfall is expected in Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

The maximum impact of monsoon is being seen in Uttar Pradesh. UP will receive rain in several phases between July 14 and 19, with an alert for heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh from July 17 to 19.

‘very heavy’ rainfall at some places in Bihar on 14 and 15 July; There has been a warning of rain. There is also a possibility of gusty winds at a speed of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour along with rain in Bihar, which can cause damage to crops standing in the fields and kutcha houses.

Problems will increase due to humidity in Delhi-NCR

The weather department’s forecast for the capital Delhi and surrounding areas (NCR) is slightly different. After the recent rain here, the weather is likely to remain dry. There are no firm signs of rain in Delhi between July 14 and 18, but cloud movement will continue.

However, due to increase in temperature, people will have to face extreme heat and humidity. The maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to reach 37°C.

Danger of landslides in hilly states

The activity of monsoon in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand has increased the concern. An alert has been issued for heavy rain and lightning in Uttarakhand from July 15 to 19. Winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 60 km in Himachal Pradesh on July 18-19.

The situation remains similar in Jammu and Kashmir, where heavy rains along with strong winds are forecast. Travelers have been advised to avoid traveling in hilly areas as there is a risk of landslides due to heavy rains.
