Top 100 female tennis player joins adult content platform

Following her participation in the WTA 125 tournament in Antalya, Turkey, in mid-March, Udvardy unexpectedly announced the launch of her OnlyFans account. This move aims to expand the 27-year-old Hungarian player’s personal brand, according to The World.

Previously, Udvardy revealed she had received a series of threatening messages via WhatsApp from an unknown number.

The anonymous sender demanded that she intentionally lose her upcoming matches. The individual threatened that if she did not comply, her family would be in danger. These messages even included photos of weapons, elevating the severity of the situation. Police were involved to ensure the protection of Udvardy and her family, BBC reported.

Udvardy claims her private information was compromised due to a data leak within the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) system. This potential breach is currently under investigation by authorities.

In a statement posted to social media, Udvardy clarified that joining OnlyFans was not simply a reaction to the incident. It also serves as a way to take ownership of her online image.

Udvardy remains an active professional tennis player. She has reached a career-high peak of world number 76.

Her decision also highlights a growing trend in professional tennis, where athletes outside the top tier are actively seeking alternative sources of income through digital platforms.

The situation underscores the immense pressures tennis players have to face. Besides the demands of competition, athletes are increasingly vulnerable to betting-related abuse, personal data leaks and direct threats to their safety. Because of this, building independent revenue streams and controlling their personal image is becoming an increasingly common strategy in modern professional sports.

Several other active players, including Sachia Vickery and Arina Rodionova, have also established presences on OnlyFans.

The trend remains a subject of ongoing controversy within the sport, particularly regarding the content posted by retired athletes. Former world number 39 Ashley Harkleroad is a prominent example. After retiring from tennis, Harkleroad joined OnlyFans to post explicit content, successfully attracting a massive subscriber base.

Her choice generated debate within the traditional tennis community, echoing the reaction to her previous bold decision to pose for Playboy magazine during her career.
