Toyota Kirloskar Motor, synonymous with reliability and durability on Indian roads, is poised to disrupt the automobile market in 2026 with the launch of the new-generation model of its beloved SUV, the Fortuner, along with its first electric car, the Urban Cruiser Ebella, and the powerful 7-seater version of the hybrid king, the Hyryder.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Toyota is poised to take the electric car to new heights with its first fully electric SUV, the Ebella, expected to launch in April 2026. The car will be based on the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara’s platform but will feature premium features along with Toyota’s signature design language and steely strength, making it a strong contender in the mid-size electric SUV segment.

The Ebella will offer customers a choice of two powerful LFP battery packs – 49 kWh and 61 kWh – with the larger battery pack delivering a robust ARAI range of 543 km on a single full charge. With a robust 172 bhp and a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 9.25 seconds, the SUV will be equipped with safety features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Level-2 ADAS, and seven airbags. Expected ex-showroom prices are expected to be between ₹18 lakh and ₹23 lakh.

New-Gen Toyota Fortuner 2026

The Fortuner, which has dominated the full-size SUV segment for the past decade, is returning in a new and modern avatar, expected to launch in late 2026 or early 2027. This new-generation Fortuner will be based on the new Hilux global platform, making it stronger, wider, and more rugged, further enhancing its off-road capabilities.

It will feature a muscular design with a large radiator grille and sharp LED headlamps, while the interior will feature luxury features like a large 12.3-inch touchscreen and a panoramic sunroof. The biggest update will be its engine, where the 2.8L diesel will be equipped with mild-hybrid technology to significantly improve performance and fuel efficiency. It’s expected to be priced between ₹39 lakh and ₹54 lakh.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider 7-Seater

The Hyrider already has a strong presence in the hybrid segment, but Toyota is now launching a 7-seater version to attract customers who want more space and excellent fuel efficiency in a single vehicle. This model, expected by the end of 2026, will be a game-changer for large families, as it will include a third-row seat and a significantly expanded wheelbase to ensure a comfortable ride for all passengers.

The car will come with its renowned 1.5L Strong Hybrid engine that promises a robust mileage of 27-28 kmpl, and features like Level-2 ADAS, along with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option, will make it a safe companion for long family trips and hilly roads.
