Top 5 R Ashwin Records in Test Cricket: On Wednesday, R Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect. He confirmed this news in the press conference following the Gabba Test, which India managed to draw, keeping the series leveled at 1-1 with two Tests to go.
“This will be my last day as an Indian cricketer in all formats at the international level. I’ve had a lot of fun. I must say I have created a lot of memories,” an emotional Ashwin said.
He will continue to play in the IPL and could also be seen playing domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu and in the TNPL. For IPL 2025, Ashwin was bought by CSK for INR 9.75 crore at the mega auction.
Ashwin goes out with 537 Test wickets, 156 ODI wickets, and 72 T20I wickets in a career that started in 2010. He was part of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy, and the twin Test series in Australia.
